Wen-Hsin Weng
Flute
Wen-Hsin Weng is a Taiwanese-born flutist and educator with nearly a decade of teaching experience and an active international performing career. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where she studies with renowned flutist Carol Wincenc.
Weng began her flute studies at the age of 14 and has since developed into a versatile musician, performing as a member of the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra, the Wind Ensemble of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestra of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, she was awarded First Prize at the National Taiwan Music Competition with her woodwind quintet, and she also won First Prize in the University of Taipei Concerto Competition (2021).
In 2025, she received a full-tuition scholarship to attend the Colorado Summer Music Festival, recognizing her outstanding artistic and academic achievements. She was also invited to perform in the Samuel Baron 100th Birthday Concert, further establishing her presence as a rising international artist.
Alongside her performance career, Weng is a passionate educator who has taught private lessons, group classes, and orchestral sections for nearly ten years. Her teaching emphasizes strong fundamentals, musical expression, and individualized guidance tailored to each student.
