Jiyoung Yoon is currently pursuing a Doctor of MusicalArts (DMA) degree at Stony Brook University (SUNY),where she studies with Carol Wincenc. She began her flute studies at the age of eleven and has been activelyinvolved in orchestral and chamber music from an earlyage.Her early ensemble experience includes performances with the Ulsan Nam-gu Youth Orchestraand the Busan Arts School Orchestra in Korea, At the ageof fifteen, she appeared as a soloist with the GyeongnamSymphony Orchestra in Korea, She continued her musicatraining in the United States, earning a Master of Musicdegree from the Mannes School of Music, where she studied with Judith Mendenhall, and later completed aGraduate Performance Degree at the Peabody lnstitute under the quidance of Marina Piccinini.
Jiyoung has received prizes in numerous competitionsincluding the New Jersey Flute Society Young ArtistCompetition, Music International Grand Prix, American
Protégé Competition, Ye-Eum Music Competition (Korea) Cultural Music Competition (Korea), and the Music Education Newspaper Competition (Korea).
Her performance experience includes appearances at major venues such as the Seoul Arts Center, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Friedheim Library, theConsulate General of Germany, Geumjeong CulturalCenter, and Gimhge Arts Center, She has also Participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists including Alberto Almarza, Demarre McGill, LucMangholz, Soo-Kyung Park, Marina Piccinini, KeithUnderwood, Sarah Wu, Donna Shin, Marianne Gedigian,Aaron Goldman, and Erica Peel.
